MFW: Tuesday Trigger Autumn Woods

Okay, I must have mustered up alot of courage or been really inspired by this week's Tuesday Trigger because I decided to give it a whirl. My sister gave me two sets of owl stamps for my birthday, so I broke one out for the occasion. The owl in the tree seemed to fit perfect with the wood theme. I went super simple and hopefully cute. I will be sending this to my niece who is off to college as a freshman!

OWH Sketch #93

I am not sure if you are going to recognize the sketch when you look at this card. I started with a printed card base which after I had the card finished and picture taken made me want to flip the sketch. A minor sidestep and wah-lah a card I could live with. I did have to cover up a gold cherub on the diecut (cause I really wasn't feeling any love for it) with a double heart for a little visual depth. The sentiment is my new fav...it is so pretty and I think I only paid a dollar for it! PS-pink is not my favorite color.

OWH Woven Heart

Do you remember the Tom Cruise line where he says "you complete me"? That is the message I get when I look at this card because of the weaving. I love the tutorials but do not always get around to trying them. Glad I had a little down time and in need of a "making a card" fix to relax me. I like the mix of the pattern vs plain paper on the heart. One could probably mix two patterns if you choose carefully, but this really works for me.

OWH MWT Polka Dots

Three guy cards made with polka dots that I had made previously but had not shared. All are pretty simple, not a bard in sight! The first two have sentiments from a sheet of fishing paper that I was trying to get used up and they were the inspiration. The great day card I did not glue down so it moved on me for the picture. I am going to sneak a glue dot under it before it gets mailed.

OWH Sketch #92

I love, love, love this sketch! A couple of weeks ago I bought some clearance items from Hobby Lobby which included this set of adorable Bo Bunny Choc Bunny stickers. I am feeling a little crazy cause it really is Fall and I am done making Christmas cards (except my own) and now I am making Easter cards? But they are just too darn cute!

My AnyHero card is made with an altered digi originally created by Paula. She graciously allowed me to alter it for this use. Thanks Paula!!! To visit her blog please go to http://paulaposts.blogspot.com.

OWH MWT Thank You!

Not sure where my mojo was hiding for this challenge. I had to push, push, and push to get these two cards finished. What started out as one card ended up as two. I think I got a little overwhelmed by the wonderful cards already posted that I psyched myself out. Has that ever happened to you? Well at least I got my "homework" done until Sunday am so now I can play. Looking forward to Sunday's sketch!

OWH Sketch #91

What a wonderful sketch! Super for a Crisp and Clean card or makes a great starting point for one with a little more detail.

I started out with the base for the Happy Holidays card which got set aside because it had that Italy flag look. When I got back to it I decided to put the sentiment on the middle strip to add some visual weight there. I got creative with the second card by adding the snowman image. Isn't he cute!

Thanks again to Barb H for the beautiful holiday papers!

Just because!

This card was supposed to have a Christmas theme. However, you don't always end up where you thought you were going if you listen to your "heart". I sent in at least 50 Christmas cards before the end of September and have more than 20 ready right now. I am shooting to mail in the remaining Christmas cards at the end of next week to be ahead of the Halloween deadline.

The background is paper I won from Barb H on the hop. WOO HOO! I decided to add a little Cosmo using the hexi punch. When I was trying to figure out what was next I ran across the Bingo card which makes it a "love" card. I thought it was too sweet not to share. Enjoy today!

OWH MWT Masculine Cards

It is fall and what do I love about fall besides the colors of the trees, crisp air and Pumpkin Spice Lattes? Football! College(Iowa) and Pro(KC). I was recently at Hobby Lobby and found two sets of stickers on sale so I looked for a sheet of coordinating paper. I have 5 cards made out of these two sets so far; each one unique. These are my two favorite ones. I love making masculine cards...they seem to fit with my style.

OWH Tuesday Turorial-Folded Trees

When I saw Sandy's card to kick off the blog hop I knew I was going to case it some day. I just did not think it would be so soon. I like this card so much I may end up using some thing like this for my own cards! It is Basic Grey meets October Afternoon. Thanks Kate for giving me a push!

OWH Sketch Challenge #90

Well I finally found my October Afternoon winter paper and it was right where it was supposed to be. Sometimes I cannot see the forest for the trees! Fun and easy sketch. Last week's sketch kinda made me nutty, but that is a good thing, they are a "challenge" after all. Sometimes it is good to be pushed outside one's comfort zone. I did not feel like stamping so I went without a sentiment. I had to replace the button because the one I originally put on was too blue. This green one works so much better.

OWH MWT Christmas Cards

I think I started making OWH Christmas Cards in July...making one card at a time for the most part. My last box to Dixie had over 50 Christmas Cards in it. I used my newly found frog to show off the bottom of the one card. I added a strip of black to show off the fun bottom of this pre-made card base. I think I like the stocking card just a wee bit better because I added a little Cosmo to it.

OWH Sketch #89 It Is Only Paper

Sometimes as an "artist" one needs to learn to let go and start over cause it really does not work. Most of the time, there may be one little thing that I was not happy with on a card, but I could live with it and learn from it. This was not true of my first attempt at Sketch #89, so i decided to say three times "it is only paper" while I clicked my scissors and started over. I used the same embellishment. The do-over is not perfect. I may add a sentiment at the bottom the the image popped up. It feels "undone", but it is a much better start!

Happy WCMD one day late

Here is my card to follow up all that yummy inspiration from the Blog Hop! I had to work yesterday so I did not get very far. Most of it I viewed today (along with laundry) and now I am wiped out!!! I love the changed format! Way to go OWH! Used scraps on this card. A bow and some brads for some dimension.

OWH Sketch #89

My first attempt at this sketch was so bad I decided it was a train wreck and needed to go! It was a birthday card. I am going to make it over and show you both later. Gotta get back to the hop!

OWH Any Hero Christmas Card

Here is the card I made. Tomorrow the new sketch comes out and I wanted to have this challenge (I like to think of it as my homework) done. I finally got to use my hexagon punch for a quilt-like look. Woo HOO! The sentiment is from one of those spongy stamps attached to plastic.

I was going to go with a small sentiment so the quilt would not get covered but this one was screaming pick me. And I actually really like the sentiment this big. Nothing in the stash to match the green scallops so I went with an accent color in the papers. A star brad for a simple accent in place of the dot.
